Ploosh!

Bruce got these pictures of Murphy leaping into the pond yesterday.  He's been trying to capture this sequence for quite awhile, but kept missing getting it by fractions of seconds.  Yesterday he trained the camera on Murphy as he threw a stick in the water left-handed.  Murphy bounded in after it...

...and three clicks of the shutter later, Bruce finally had those elusive pictures.

After yesterday's fun in the pond, today was a very different sort of day for the dogs and Max.  We spent the morning at the vets, where all four of them got checked over and then received their shots.  Arlo also had a benign cyst removed from his backside, where it's been very slowly growing for several years.  Seal had two foxtails removed from her ears.  Murphy was perfectly healthy in every way.  And Max managed to scratch the nice vet tech lady twice as she held him for the doctor.  Although the entire gang was seriously unhappy at being part of this adventure, they all did pretty well -- and nobody threw up in the car on the windy trip there and back.  Expensive day, though.
This afternoon I drove back down to Escalon to help at our big school fundraising dinner.  Lots of people, lots of food, everyone having a great time.  I stayed for awhile, but there was more than enough help, so three hours later, I got two dinners to go and high-tailed it back home.  I probably should have stayed through dinner, but I'm completely peopled out right now.

Tomorrow is berry-planting day -- and the plan is to not set foot off this place.
