Easter Sunday

Last night I was awakened by flashing lightning and the boom of thunder.  And then it rained!  We've so needed this late soaking, as the hillsides are already going dry.

In the morning, wearing my fluffy red bathrobe, holding a coffee mug, and trailed by various dog and cat folk, I took a rather soggy stroll through the gardens.  The air was soft and smelled deliciously of wet leaves, earth and sun-warmed flowers.

Half an hour later, Bruce had a breakfast omelette in the pan and the cribbage board ready. I, with a soaked bathrobe hem, and several cats with wet paws came enthusiastically inside and tucked in.

                  Happy Easter!

  1. Sounds like you had the perfect Easter Sunday.!!
Loved seeing the color in your garden,we have nothing out yet, spring still seems to be on hold.
Glad I am not the only one that likes walking in the garden in their night attire.!! This is one of the joys of living a rural life.
Happy Easter and have a good week.
    Carolyn.

  2. About being able to step outside in various states of undress -- hear, hear for the country life!

On a different note, getting this post edited has caused me no end of frustration. I uploaded the pictures, then typed the text in as artfully as possible only to discover when viewing the blog that several lines kept disappearing behind various pictures. I'd go back into the edit mode and reconfigure to where it would look just right, but back on the website several different lines were now stuck behind a pic. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. I think I finally got it right, but the time expended on this was vast -- War and Peace was, no doubt, produced with less effort... OK, that's out of my system! Thank you for listening. :)
